Jessica Bitner and Kristy Burns began their friendship thirteen years ago in Tennessee. Growing up next to the Bristol Motor Speedway, the two formed an appreciation for racing. After college, they decided to relocate to Orlando for the chance to pursue their professional occupations. While living in Florida, Jessica began to work for a company that specialized in several NASCAR products. Once again, next to a NASCAR track in Daytona, the girls continued to follow the sport. However, it never occurred to them that they could one day make a career in fast-paced industry!
“I knew from my experience at the tracks, there seemed to be a limited selection of designer race-wear for women,” said Jessica. Kristy had a degree in fashion and knew instantly that there was a niche in the market for a stylish clothing line for women race fans. They realized that with both of their skills combined, a clothing line could not only be a hobby for the two friends, but also a career.
Jessica and Kristy figured the best way to
test their theory was to travel to a race in Charlotte for a weekend
of research. Kristy knew trends could come and go, but die-hard fans
will be forever. “We wanted to talk to as many girls as possible in
order to make sure we were on the right path.” The 14 hour drive from
Orlando to Charlotte proved to be an adventure. 
After the car over-heated
and the hotel was over booked, the girls were hoping the track would
lighten their spirits! The responses and feedback were completely overwhelming,
and most importantly, reassuring.
In a few short months, Jessica and Kristy designed a fashionable line
of clothing for women who love racing. Lap of Luxury’s products are comfortable
enough for the track, but also stylish enough for every day wear.
There are about 40 million women that watch and follow NASCAR. Lap of Luxury intends to design shirts and other products for all the ladies that want to support their favorite drivers and the sport of racing!
